Our MissioN
Our mission is to preserve and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Bengal among the Bengali diaspora in Bengaluru. We strive to create an inclusive, vibrant, and nurturing space where traditions are honoured, language is cherished, and the next generation grows up with a proud sense of identity.
We believe that culture is not merely what we inherit — it is what we actively carry forward. Through our annual Durga Puja and year-round cultural initiatives, we ensure that the flame of Bengali tradition burns brightly in the heart of Karnataka.
Our Durga Puja — The Soul of Agomoni
The annual Durga Puja is the centrepiece of Agomoni’s existence. Celebrated with unmatched devotion and meticulous planning, our Puja is more than a religious observance — it is a five-day festival of faith, fellowship, culture, and joy.
Every year, our community pools its energy, resources, and talent to create an experience that transports participants straight to the pandals of Kolkata. From the first beat of the dhak to the tearful farewell of Vijaya Dashami, every moment is crafted with care and reverence.
Our Puja upholds traditional rituals with authenticity — including Shasthi, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami pujas performed by learned pandits according to age-old Sanskrit scriptures. The anjali, the sandhi puja, and the sindur khela are conducted with deep spiritual fidelity, making each year a truly sacred experience.

Agomoni is built on a foundation of disciplined teamwork — from committee planning months in advance to volunteers who give their time selflessly. We take pride in the seamless, respectful, and well-organised manner in which our Puja unfolds year after year.

Our cultural programmes, from classical dance performances to Rabindra Sangeet recitals and children’s events, reflect the depth and diversity of Bengal’s cultural legacy.
